IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED?

Follow these protocols to ensure safety and legal compliance during a crisis.

01

Secure

Exit the immediate danger zone. Find a public space or a police beat box.

02

Document

Note vehicle numbers, physical descriptions, and save digital screenshots/logs.

03

Report

Dial 112. Do not wait. The first 60 minutes are critical for evidence collection.

THE FIR PROCESS (FIRST INFORMATION REPORT)

1. Right to Register

The police MUST register an FIR for cognizable offenses. If they refuse, you can send the substance of the info to the Superintendent of Police (SP).

2. Zero FIR Awareness

If the crime happened elsewhere, the current station must still file a 'Zero FIR' and transfer it later.

3. Review and Sign

Read the report carefully. Ensure the police have recorded exactly what you said. You are entitled to a FREE copy.
